Volunteer with Dream-A-Way and put smiles on faces!

As a Dream-A-Way volunteer, you’ll use and develop your skills while putting smiles on the faces of Devon children and adults with disabilities. As well as making new friends and having lots of fun, you’ll be part of a very special group of people – The Dream Team!

Collage of volunteers having fun at events. Volunteer today! We always aim to be flexible to fit with your existing commitments and will be happy with whatever level of help you are able to offer.

Vacancies

There are various volunteer roles available:

Event Volunteers

As one of Devon’s best loved charities, organisations regularly organise events in aid of us and often need our help. If you’re a team player and good with people, this could be just for you.

Bucket Collectors

We have regular collections at the Exeter Chiefs and Exeter City FC so if you’re a supporter, you’ll get to see the match free too! We also need people for supermarket collections throughout Devon.

Holiday Home Cleaners

We have 9 holiday homes sited at Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, Sandy Bay near Exmouth that are fully booked during the summer months. Our volunteer cleaning team does an amazing job every Saturday morning from 10 am to 12 noon to ensure homes are ready for new guests. Full instruction and training will be arranged as will the necessary cleaning equipment.

Business Opportunities

We work in partnership with many businesses throughout Devon to generate mutual benefits. By raising funds for Dream-A-Way and increasing our profile, we’ll highlight your efforts on our popular social media channels and website. Options range from a simple in-house cake sale or donating a percentage of your profits through to nominating us as your charity of the year.

Collection Boxes

The more collection boxes we have placed on busy counters, the more holiday grants we are able to make! If you have a local pub, convenience store or other business who’d be happy to help, please contact us for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check?
No. As none of our roles involve working with vulnerable groups, including children, you won’t need a DBS check.

Will I receive expenses as a volunteer?
To maintain our low expenses rate of just 1%, no one connected with the charity – from volunteers through to our Chairperson – gets paid or receives any expenses.

I have a disability so can I still apply?
Of course! As an equal opportunities organisation, we’ll make reasonable adjustments to ensure that any physical barriers are removed and/or extra support is provided for disabled volunteers.
