Hi I’m Shelley
Dream-A-Way helped me in 2016 as I am disabled and also my husband has mobility problems so we all can’t thank them enough. One evening I was on the Dream-A-Way website reading a story of a very lovely family with a dad with cancer who very sadly passed away, I was in tears and felt I really wanted to help this charity.
I did a sponsored ‘Channel’ swim of over 22 miles, we put their charity pots up wherever we can, we held a fashion show in 2018, our daughter did her first ever sponsored haircut and in June, my husband, 7 year old daughter and I became Ambassadors – Wow! Then I was asked to go onto the committee, in 2019 we did another fashion show and a 70s 80s 90s disco.
I feel very privileged to be a part of this amazing charity and being with all the other unpaid volunteers. Every penny raised helps local Devon people with disabilities who sometimes have their very first holiday or their very last which is heartbreaking so I am honoured to help Dream -A- Way make dreams come true!
Making very precious memories for life is just priceless!
