Susan & Charlie – Memories Made At  Ladram Bay.

1111

My son , Charlie has Downs Syndrome and some Autistic behaviours.

He is 19 years of age.

I have been a Single Mum now for 8 years.

Over that time, we have sadly not managed to have a real holiday.

We were so pleased to go to Ladram Bay, through Dream-A-Way, because it was so close to home & we love the area.

Charlie immediately took to the Caravan and loved the open plan nature of it.

I had booked his 2 brothers in as well but sadly, neither of them could get the time off work.

1112On the bright side, this allowed us to have a series of visitors.

Charlie’s Grandparents came over and we all went to Lyme Regis, Beer and Sidmouth.

Friends came for the day and we went to Ladram Bay and had a big lunch together.

Ellie, one of Charlie’s carers, stayed over night to help me with Charlie’s personal Care and packing up the caravan.

We had a lovely time taking various day trips, travelling on the tram at Seaton to the next village where we had a lovely lunch.

We had some lovely meals in Sidmouth and Lyme Regis.

We went to the fossil museum at Lyme, which Charlie loved.

Most of the time the weather was fantastic.

On the one & only wet day we had, we went into Budleigh Salterton.

We did a few jobs and had a lovely time in the cafe.

On the way back we went to the pottery at Otterton.

We had a cream tea there.

We loved the camp site and enjoyed a meal at the Pub.

All in all we had an old fashioned seaside holiday.

We had ice creams and fish and chips , paddled in the sea and relaxed.
Thank you so much.

It was an amazing holiday.

We are so grateful to Dream-A-Way
