Wishing Well Wonga Given to Dream-A-Way

Dream-A-Way friends and committee members spent a fun couple of hours on August 2nd sorting and counting many hundreds of coins donated from the “Elephant” wishing well at Bicton Park Botanical Gardens by owner and Committee Member Valerie Lister.

The coins were wet, muddy and rather smelly but every penny will be used to help pay for holidays and outings for local disabled people.

Committee members Gill Freeman, Tina Kingdom, Mike Rock, Bob Beer (having a break!) and helper Kevin Whitburn counting the coins in one of our luxury holiday homes at Sandy Bay.

With well over £300 counted we are extremely grateful to Valerie, her staff and all the generous visitors to Bicton Gardens.

None of our income is ever used to pay wages, personal expenses or honoraria.

This makes Dream-A-Way different to most other charities.

If you can help collect coins by placing a charity collecting box in a local shop, pub or other premises please contact Dream-A-Way
